There’s something so sweet about a good script font, roses, and hearts. Combining all three is a recipe for romance.
These gift tags with a heart-shaped accent have a Victorian feel. The hearts look like little wreaths hanging on a love letter.
I’d suggest attaching the tags to a gift bag or box with chiffon silk ribbon. The softness of the ribbon adds to the romantic feel of these tags.

How to Make DIY Gift Tags
As long as you have scrapbook paper or cardstock, you can make gift tags. I enjoy using my gift tag punch, but you can also cut these with a Cricut machine or by hand.
I prefer drying flowers at home to make “rose confetti” for gift tags. You can refer to my Guide to Drying Flowers 5 Ways on YouTube for more details. If you’re short on time (or flowers), you can also buy dried flowers online (see Supplies list).
For today’s project, I used the air-dry method, hanging my roses upside-down in our cool, dark utility room.
Supplies

For your convenience, I’ve linked all of the supplies below. Just click the button to view all of the products used in this tutorial.
Instructions
- Punch out (or cut) the gift tag shapes.
- For the sturdiest results, glue two layers of scrapbook paper or cardstock together.
- Punch a hole in the top to thread ribbon later.
- Crumble a few petals of dried flowers like roses or dahlias.
- Add a heart-shaped string of glue to the front of the gift tags.
- Sprinkle dried flowers on top while the glue is wet.
- Repeat the process, adding more small dabs of glue until the heart looks full.
- String ribbon through the hole in the gift tags.
Tip: Turn the gift tag punch upside down to view where it will cut the paper.
