I like to think Halloween has the most range of any holiday. Do you know what I mean?

It’s like your mantel’s one time of year to party. It’s been holding back all year with conservative vases, tame book arrangements, and a candleholder or two.

Now, it’s time to PAR-TAY!

When it comes to decorating mantels, there are a few must-have elements that seem to rule the season:

  • Simple colors schemes (think black, white, and gold with a hint of orange)
  • Farmhouse signs and accents
  • Picture frames with spooky art
  • Black animals, like bats, ravens, crows, and cats
  • Dollar store painted pumpkins
  • Halloween garlands
  • Pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns
  • Black candles and twinkle lights
  • Apothecary jars and “potions”
  • Skulls and skeletons

Below, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite Halloween mantel displays from blogger friends to inspire you to dress your mantel up in costume this year.

1. Black, White, and Gold Halloween Mantel Decorations

I had a “vision” for my Halloween mantel, and it included lots of DIY projects. You can see all the details in my recent post about Halloween mantel decorations you can make in a weekend.

2. Farmhouse Halloween Mantel with Skeletons

Michelle’s Party Plan-It knows how to “creep it real” with this black and white themed farmhouse Halloween mantel. Gotta love the Jack/Jill skeleton combo!

There’s something eerie but elegant about this black and white Halloween mantel from Pink Peppermint Design. That broken mirror makes me shudder, and I love that crooked candelabra!

For a more subdued look for Halloween that lasts throughout the fall season, check out this elegant Halloween mantel decor from DIY Decor Mom. She includes small, subtle nods to Halloween (like mini pumpkins and spiders) that can be added/removed in the transition to Thanksgiving.

10. Elegant Black and Gold Halloween Mantel

Adding metallic accents to your Halloween mantel can also give it a more sophisticated, upscale vibe. Botanic Bleu shares a gorgeous display in her black and gold Halloween mantel. (She even spray painted some accents.) It’s perfect for some grown-up Halloween parties.

  1. How cute, Crissy. I love all of these ideas you shared. I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, but I just might have to this year now. I’m pinning this to my Halloween board to remember for later.🥰

    1. Thanks so much, Jen! Sometimes I decorate for Halloween, and sometimes I just decorate for fall. It’s nice to see how others celebrate the season to get ideas. Thanks for visiting and pinning! Happy Halloween/Fall!

  2. I’m not a big fan of Halloween decor in general so I tend to stick with fall and harvest decorations that can last through until we break out the Christmas decor! But these are all quite creative!

    1. Hi Janet! I can understand that. I always feel a bit squeezed between the start of fall and Christmas, so sometimes Halloween decor takes a backseat. That said, I’m having a grand ol’ time decorating with some spooky accents this year! The kids enjoy it most of all.

  3. I love this round-up, Crissy… #7 is especially spooky to me, with the black-hollow-eyed bust! Great Halloween mantel inspiration! Pinned!

    1. Girlfriend, you are QUICK! I’m giving you the (affectionate) nickname Speedy Briones. Ha! You’re always one of the first to support and cheer on your fellow bloggers. It is always appreciated. Thanks for pinning, too!
