  • Cricut Maker or (newest Cricut Maker 3): The mother of all Cricut machines that is the top-of-the-line option. This is the one that can cut over 300 materials and is recommended for professionals.
  • Cricut Explore: The best all-around, most versatile machine with the ability to cut plenty of materials (over 100) and make sizeable projects like t-shirts or signs.

  1. Hi. I have been searching everywhere to the simple answer to this question! Can you cut Shrinky Dink material on the Cricut Joy? My about to turn 13 year old granddaughter has started making jewelry with Shrinky Dink material (she lives in Hawaii). For her birthday on New Year’s Eve, I thought about getting her a Cricut Joy, but ONLY if she would be able to cut Shrinky Dink material with it.
If anyone knows the answer I would really appreciate knowing as soon as possible!

    1. Hi Jana. This is a great question! Unfortunately, the Cricut Joy cannot cut through shrink plastic sheets used for Shrinky Dinks because you need a deep point blade for that. The deep point blade works with Cricut Explore and Cricut Maker machines, but not Joy machines. It is sold separately to cut through thicker materials for those machines. I hope this helps!
